Of course these stats are based on the 24 hours of sales. It would be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks.

don't even talk to me about cubs tickets. i tried all day on friday only to sit in the virtual waiting room for hours and hours. :( boo-hoo.

oh, and what i think happens is that they mark a game as "sold out" when only single tickets are available... no more pairs left. then, at a later time, they go in and mark it as not sold out because there are single tickets way up on top behind the poles left. just from my observation from the past few years.

laura, how did you get tickets?

I'm going to a couple of games in May, vs. the Mets. Had to wait in the virtual waiting room for HOURS (six hours for the first set, four more for the second) to get those tickets, too . . .

i'm sure that's how my sister got our tickets too. she doesn't have any special connections or anything. who are they playing on april 10? that's the game i'm going to.

April 10th is vs. Milwaukee. Should be a fun one!

There are multiple reasons to why a game is marked 'Sold Out' then tickets are released the same day -- one could be that the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets was declined. I've snagged a concert ticket this way.
Also, if you wait until the day of the game, you have a small probability that you'll get tickets as the Cubs/Tribune release tickets.

Does anyone know about day of game ticket sales? (or where I can find out)Do they still do that, how many are for sale, how early do they start selling and are they just bleacher seats?
Thanks alot!

I believe they still sell day of game tickets. They can be the Tribune seats that nobody at Tribune takes, so it might be good. Try giving 312-404-CUBS a call and see.

Of course, they only sell the tickets at the ticket window at wrigley field on the day of the game. but what i meant was to call that number and ask if they still offer that service.

There are many factors to consider when determing the answers to your questions. Each factor has an effect on demand. There could also be some fluctuation in supply as well that could have an affect. To answer your first question, you'll have to look at what is happening in the month of August and September. Things to consider would be the opponent and that August games usually have more meaning than September games. This doesn't even have to be true as long as it is percieved as being true by the general public. Another thing to consider is that school usually starts in late August early September. Maybe Dad wants to take liittle Johnny to see the Cubbies play before school begins. This is just some thoughts off the top of my head, but there are probably more. As far as Saturday vs. Sunday, I would say Saturday unless Monday is a holiday or the opponent is extra special. Sold out statemnets being retracted can happen for many reasons. Tickets that were allocated for a group may have been over allocated and are now avaialble again. As far as a Tuesday night Reds game that was probably the box office trying to artifiicially control demand. they do this all the time.

Maybe we should all just get season tickets and forget about the lines at the ticket booth
