Hershey’s is now making York peppermint patties into chips called Swoops. And they make me *swoon.* They are soo good! So thin, so tasty. It’s the most delightful snack ever!
The plain chocolate and reese’s also taste good, but there’s something about the mintiness inside a chip that just defies nature.

And since they are in a chip format, you can’t just eat one. They are tempting to eat ’em all!
That’s ironic. I saw those in the store and commented to my mom that those inventions are the kinds of things that make people fat. I do like peppermint patties though. I’m sure Bella will come over with them someday. Kids always know the latest trends in junk food (which is sad).
I’m a sucker for new trends in food. It’s so much fun to share the new stuff. And soda sweepstakes.
Like the Pepsi Blue blog, Tropical Sprite Remix. And there’s tricks that soda companies play and stupid sweepstakes.
i was at a font seminar the other day and the presenter was making comparisons between the food packaging industry and font management utilities. He said that Americans want their orange juice containers to be that rectangle shape with a triangle on top. And Americans want their milk jugs to be those funky un-box like shape. Europeans love efficiency. Their milk and juice containers are square. They don’t get all hung up in how the are accustomed to see things. (He applied that american familiarity factor to font management utilities. Font Reserver was a great tool, but people are so familiar with Suitcase’s interface that Font Reserve never caught on. Actually, Extensis wound up buying out Font Reserve.)
Oh Wow! Are you kidding? York Peppermint Patty CHIPS!? I have to get some swoon! I mean soon!
My Spanish friend and I always talked about food. She couldn’t believe the size of our portions, laughed at Au Bon(she missed real croissants and coffee), and was puzzled by our grocery stores (like why we spray our vegetables — it looks fresher but it actually makes them wilt), and our aisles and aisles of junk food. She was also aghast to see someone walk down the street eating and would lament, “you can’t tell me they don’t have FIVE minutes to sit down and eat!” Apparently, Europeans are much more mindful of what and how they eat.
I am working on formatting the archived file of all of my blog entries and ran across this from July 2003 “Tuesday, July 22, 2003 New Product: Chocolate Potato Chips Later this year, Hershey Foods will introduce Hershey’s S’mores, a candy bar form of the traditional campfire favorite, and Swoops, potato chip-like chocolate slices in four flavors that will be packaged in recloseable “on-the-go containers”. Hershey will also add another variety of their famous Kisses.” That other variety of Kiss is Caramel-filled. I saw them at the store the other day. But being that I’m not a huge Hershey Kiss fan, I wasn’t tempted to try them, even though I am caramel’s number 1 fan.
