Sometimes I’ll pull up a Chicago webcam just to see what the skyline looks like. Today, the trees are starting to change color. I was about to capture a simple screenshot to post to social media. But I figured I would do a quick five-second video screen recording instead.
As I started recording the webcam, Pete’s radio show, Rockology on WXAV 88.3FM, just started playing from another Chrome tab. I figured it was kinda cool to have Pete talking over the webcam, so I kept the screen recording going. (by the way, Pete is my cousin)

Pete opens the show by talking about how wonderful it is that fall is finally here. He says… here’s a transcript:
And I have to tell you that today, finally feels like fall. This whole like 60, 70-degree weather, all throughout October and November. I feel like we’ve been kinda cheated out of fall.
And I love fall. The idea of that first chill in the air, eating soup, without judgment. You know, getting a grilled cheese, and you dunk it into the soup. We really haven’t had the ability to do that yet, or at least I haven’t.
But today kind of feels like we’re at turning point. Like we’re turning a corner. In more ways than one.
Now I know Pete is talking about that “In more ways than one.” He doesn’t say it outright, but I know he implies the election results last night and that we are at a turning point. Nice play on words, Pete!
All the while he’s saying this, my webcam recording continues. The light is moving across the trees, changing them from dark to light. HOW SYMBOLIC!
I can’t believe this interplay of what Pete is saying on air with this video being recorded, and I just so happened to be recording it at that very moment.

Oh, and after I stopped the recording, the second song that Pete played is the Beatles’ song, “You say you want a revolution, well, you know.” Classic!
