Mac OS Calculators compared

The Mac OS X calculator is so huge compared to the old classic mac calculator. I miss you old school calculator. The new one looks like it’s for senior citizens. The old one just oozes out techno geekness. 8-F

Oh, but look at all the pretty glass and chrome! It looks just like a real calculator! *eye roll*

Some things in OS X really annoy me. The calculator is certainly one of them. The OS X calculator is big and dumb and clunky and stupid and lame. I yearn for the days of the OS 9 calculator. Actually, the computer I’m on right now is OS 9, so I can use the superior calculator. Ha!

versiontracker.com has a ton of links to os x calculators. search for “calculator”. Sort by “License”. (Hit the “License” link to sort by it.) Go to page 4 (link at bottom) to see all the Freeware calculators. I’m sure someone has created a small os 9-like calculator. Here’s the full link. I don’t know if it will work. That’s why i gave instructions above. versiontracker

One more thing. I want my window shades back! When I double click on a window’s title bar, I don’t want it to go to stupid lame dumb dock. I want it collapse. Bring back window shades! We are on the fourth freakin’ version of OS X and they still haven’t brought back window shades. I know there’s shareware out there that allows me to have window shades. I refuse to pay for it. It was free under OS 9. It should be free under OS X. Getting rid of the window shades is the dumbest move Apple ever made.

yea, that expose thing is ok. but it’s all or nothing type thing. i either have a mess of windows open or i do the expose thing and have no windows showing. I use F11 instead of the hot corners. I want to organize my windows so i know where everything is at. window shades allowed me to do that. The dock is too much work. Expose is extremely limited.

I *heart* OS X. And Tiger? Don’t get me started. Dashboard alone makes the upgrade cost worth it!

i have another complaint about OS X. It’s the “Find” window. In OS 9, when I launch the Sherlock (the Find window), it automatically puts the cursor in the search window so I could just start typing in my search. With OS X, It doesn’t default to the search window. I have to click my stupid mouse in the search window so I may start typing. I don’t understand why everyone says OS X is so much better than OS 9. This is an obvious flaw. It’s very annoying.

in os 9, i could tab through the searchable drives AND the search window. in os x, Tab only goes through the searchable drives. I can’t tab to the search window. I must click my stupid mouse in the search window. HOW LAME IS THAT!
