My girlfriend and I met through MySpace in May 2004. It’s funny how MySpace was so unknown back then. People would ask us how we met. We would reply, “through MySpace,” and they would be like, “what?” And look at MySpace now, it’s the 7th most popular site according to Alexa.
whao. i’m glad we met before all that traffic hit! ialways thought of it as a friendster rip off, now it’s way more popular than friendster (which is ranked 81 according to alexa) i like friendster better.
whoa. what’s with the spike in late 2004? Why did it jump so high, then fall so fast? i always thought you guys met on friendster?
i’m thinking that the spike in late 2004 was due to the Christmas season, most sites experience huge spikes during that time. But it could have also been some sort of report on tv. We met on MySpace, but back in the day when we would explain it to people, we would say MySpace is sorta like friendster. And most people would be like, “ooooh.” Kinda like when google first came out, i bet people said “oh it’s kinda like yahoo.” And look at google now.
I think you have the wrong graph. Clearly this is the stock price of Google.
7th most popular because that piece of crap website is so hard to use that you click 30 times to do anything!
