Micro Compact Home

The idea of living in a micro compact home sounds appealing. Extreme efficiency. Just what you need. People laugh when I say this, because they think I could never do this with all the stuff I have. But in eighth grade we had a reading time every day where we could pick any book we want to read. I selected a book from the school’s library about this boy who left home and lived inside a tree. That struck a cord with me then and still does now.

Then again, maybe I should just stick to having a treehouse in the backyard. Treehouses rock!

Say, I like how they have a smart car in this photo. 🙂

What is interesting is that the overall size of the home is about the size of a storage unit that people rent to keep all of their stuff! No wonder EZ Mini Storage just goes by EZ Storage these days! We all have too much stuff, and after spring cleaning we now have a carfull of stuff to drop off at Salvation Army. If for any other reason, having a house like this will bring some peace and sanity into our lives! mp/m

Have you ever seen the huts constructed by the Madhousers? They’re really pretty nice, with a stove for heating and cooking and a loft sleeping space. A real front door, too, that locks.

I think you could absolutely do it. I think I could absolutely do it. In fact, it’s funny that you’re posting this because I’ve been thinking about paring WAY down. I even took out 6 bags of stuff the other night for the Salvation Army. I know there is so much more I could live without.

The FAQ fails to answer the following question: Where’s the toilet? I think the house could get by without a shower as one could just sponge-bathe themselves. A toilet, on the other hand, seems like a necessity, or else you would need to have an outhouse.

i want a bigger house so i can keep more stuff. It seems whenever i go on a cleaning binge, the following week I need what i threw out. It drives me crazy. I’m a pack rat, but I’m not crazy like those people who keep candy bar wrappers.
