A smiley face takes two pinky fingers to type :)

🙂 the smiley emoticon. It’s fun to think that it takes the simultaneous effort of both your pinky fingers to type a smiley face. The left pinky holds down the shift key, while the right pinky finger presses the colon eyeballs and right parentheses smile. 🙂

And speaking of typing, did you know that Spongebob Squarepants can teach you how to type?

I love how of he’s typing out the TOP SECRET Krabby Patty recipe. Of all things to type. If Plankton only knew he had to spend $14.95 to get this DVD, and he would have his hands on the Krabby Patty recipe. Then again, does plankton even have ten fingers? I think he’s just got two pointy hands.

You know how I feel about typing in the 21st century, don’t you? I can’t believe we are still doing it! Maybe people don’t mind it enough to demand voice-command typing (or whatever other ideas are out there) … but I guess if Spongebob is teaching the next generation how to type, then any hope for eliminating this archaic activity is hopelessly lost and gone

i never got into the proper practice of using the appropriate fingers to type numbers. I always just do the hunt-and-peck technique (forefingers) for the numbers. So, sadly my smiley face emoticons are not pinky-finger creations.

That is really, really funny that a tutorial on how to type by Mr. Spongebob Squarepants has him typing the SECRET crabby patty recipe. I bet the creative team who developed the dvd cover got a big kick out of doing that. And Spongebob looks so happy about it, too. Good stuff.

Tom, you are a crabby patty genius! Also, it’d be pretty funny, Tom, if we had to use a wacom tablet to write our words on the computer instead of a keyboard. It is indeed rather curious that voice-recognition “typing” never really caught on.

I think everyone should try my crabby pattys, they are truly delicious! And yes, I came up with that recipe after becoming a SBSP fan! The only reason I know how to type (properly) is because I was forced to taking typing classes in college. I’m glad I can type, but I don’t think it is one of the Top 100 things every person should know. And spud, as far as visiting me in time out, I’m all for it! I’d rather talk face to face any day!
