What a great idea that Sacramento did for their pedestrian bridge at their airport. They took an aerial view of the Sacramento River and wove it into a carpet for one big welcome mat.
Now visitors can say, “oh let’s go here, then go down the river.” Or they can just pretend to be godzilla smashing and destroying. Raaaawr!

GOzilla? i love that carpet… they should make a digital one with gps that would show you where you are on the ground.
That is cool! But just the pictures alone are making me dizzy! I can’t even imagine trying to walk on it!
oops. thanks for the catch on the typo, lisa. I just fixed it now.
great idea, especially for an airport… aerial view… airport. clever. Plus airports connect people of different lands. It’s neat for out-of-towners to look at the map rug. And it’s fun for locals to look at the map rug and have a sense of ownership. lots of fun. though it is very ugly aesthetically. But that’s no matter here.
It helps aesthetically that they have the map by a bunch of sunny windows. If that map was in a dark hallway, it wouldn’t look as nice.
