It is my greatest desire that some video game midi music play in the background while this is displayed.
Are there other examples of 16th century Switzerland textiles with bitmap art? I’m googling: Switzerland 16th century textile
Google is not a very good search engine for finding 16th century Switzerland textiles. Is there a better search engine for browsing art like this? The Art Institute of Chicago’s website has some nice parameters. You can look through textiles from 1650 to 1700.
I found some another textile on the Art Institute’s website that look like bitmap art.
One of the great things about needlework tapestries is that sometimes they can look like bitmap video game art. Correction—this needlework looks like something on an e-ink Kindle device. Or maybe a Tamagotchi. Can you feed this horse (or camel) to keep it alive?
I should ask the Art Institute if there are more 16th century Switzerland textiles that look like bitmap video game art
I found a couple experts in the Textile Department of the Art Institute of Chicago:
- Melinda Watt, Chair of Textiles. She’s also on Instagram.
- Erica Warren, Assistant Curator, Department of Textiles. She has a website, ericawarrenphd.com
