We still don't have a name for this decade? I wonder what did the people in the 1910's call the decade of the 1900's?

yea, the 1900-1910 was/is referred to as the "aughts". Though, I don't think I've heard one person refer to 2000-2010 being the "aughts". It's one of those early 20th century words that died off.
The most common phrase I've heard referring to this current decade is "the 2000s".
The "two thousands" is certainly an inaccurate term, because what happens when we get to 2021? That's still the two thousands. Ah well.

The “Longest decade” was because of the hype of the millennium bug (Y2K) remember! That started way back in early 1990’s. Everything that has a computer chip was supposed to fail on 01/01/2000. The world was supposed to end.
The nuclear missiles, PC‘s, the elevators, the planes falling from sky's, bank balances suddenly becoming zeros etc. The appropriate name should be the longest decade.
