While getting my mail, i dropped a plastic bag containing 12 eggs inside a regular foam container. The container dropped flat on the ground. Six eggs were cracked. Six survived uncracked. 50% not bad.
How many eggs will crack from a two foot drop?

did you ever have to do that science experiment in grade school, where you had to design a container for an egg that would protect it from breaking when dropped from a certain distance from the ground? i think it’s a nation-wide project that schools participate in. i remember doing it, but my design didn’t work [the egg broke”>. it’s really hard to do.
wow, here’s a very scientific explanation of the project. if i had known this back then, maybe i could have designed a winning container: The Egg Drop Project [there are more links at the end of this page”>
Last time I dropped a dozen eggs I was so disappointed and frustrated that when I noticed a garbage can within 15 feet of where I’d dropped them, I walked them over and threw them all away without even checking to see if any of them could be salvaged. I do remember thinking at the time that I didn’t want to risk the possibility of any contamination from the raw eggs.
what do you cook with your eggs?
