Do waiters and cashiers get hungry when they see so much food go by them on a regular basis? Or do they just become numb to it?

I was at my regular lunch spot the other day and one of the employees who I’m friendly with said “I’m hungry” and I said “Well you should have some lunch” and he said “Yeah, but I don’t know of any place” [!”> I think they get numb of their own food, but not necessarily numb from eating [and truthfully, without being too mean, it seems to be getting more and more rare to see waitiers and cashiers who are fit … I’m just sayin'”>

if i were a waiter, i would be eating ALL THE TIME. a french fry here and there adds up fast, man. when i worked in an ice cream shop for 3 summers, I put on plenty of extra weight.

I am a cashier at Big Y. I wouldn’t say that I get hungry, but seeing all the customers items (especially prepared foods) enlightens your decisions on where you go to eat on your break.
