What? There was a dude that sat inside R2-D2 and operated him? What? I always thought R2-D2 was radio controlled. Three-foot eight-inch actor Kenny Baker says on his website, “What do you do inside R2D2? I sit inside and listen to instructions, it can be very noisy in there at times, so you have to be alert. I have two levers to enable movement from side to side, but the I can only move 3 inches at a time.”
My mind just exploded.

Oh yeah! You didn’t know that? When Star Wars came out back in the 70’s [I’m a relic”> we found out as much about the movie and actors as possible. Our minds melted when we found out there was a little person inside R2-D2!
My mind is liquifying by the fact that Kenny is wearing a turtleneck and a v-neck sweater while inside R2-D2. You’d think he’d be sitting in his underwear in that tight of a space. He’s one professional actor.
Even more impressive movie robots can be seen in “Silent Running,” which used hemiplegic actors. The robots’ “legs” were actually the actors’ hands. Then there’s the UFO film “Aurora Encounter,” in which some kids with progeria (premature aging) portray aliens.
oh vaaao its nice
