When you put a bunch of division symbols next to each other, they look like a stitched line. The horziontal lines are the seam. The dots are the holes where the thread goes through.
I was playing with my email signature and thought the division symbol was pretty cool. Who uses that in their email signature? Nobody that’s who. Here’s my email sig in all its divisional glory:
Tänan!
(That’s thank you in Estonian. Pronounced “TA-nahn.”)
Matt Maldre ÷ Artist/Designer ÷ Spudart Productions
https://www.spudart.org ÷ [email protected] ÷ 312-xxx-xxxx
÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷ ÷
See! It’s totally like a stitched line. Oh you know it.
Tomorrow’s blog post will touch on other symbols you can use in your email signatures. (Hint, the division symbol wins)

That IS cool. Why the space between the “stitch” though? Why not put them side-by-side?
what’st he keyboard command for the division symbol?
I have no idea what the keyboard command for the division symbol is. I just did a search online and copied it from other site. Here let me do a search. Ok, so this site lists how to do it on a pc, but the mac column is blank! Blank! http://home.earthlink.net/~awinkelried/keyboard_shortcuts.html OOOOH! here it is. option-/ (that’s the option key and the forward slash key) Having it be the slash key makes sense, cuz isn’t the the slash symbol also used for division? I think it is. WEEEEEEE!
keyboard command is option slash
