At Wrigley Field the Chicago Cubs are bringing the brick wall behind homeplate closer to the field, creating 213 extra “Dugout Box Seats”. The cost of the seats are:
* $50: value added games.
* $100: regular games
* $250: prime games
Almost half of the cubs home games are designated prime. For the entire season they are making $2,971,350.00 based on the face value of the tickets. All of them have sold out.
I won the “chance” to buy some tickets. Was told to go online at a secret address at 9am today, but was locked forever in the virtual waiting room for half an hour. Then I tried another browser, and it said all the tickets have sold out.
Oh well, I don’t get to contribute to the three million dollar fund for the Cubs this year.

Just for funsies, i went back to the page where people could register for the “chance” to win dugout box seats. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/chc/ticketing/dbs_form.jsp They have a standard, “registration is closed” thing up. But! Why in the world did they chose that photo? It shows the ivy when someone spilled acid on it, killing a section of the outfield ivy. Bizarre.
Here is a link where you can view the new dugout seats being added.
i don’t like how they are calling the $50 tickets “value-added”. Value? 50 bucks? geez louis. but then again if i was one of the “chosen” ones and i wudda bought a $50 ticket. so i’m a sucka. but i feel llike this value-added name nonsense is a slap in the face to cubs fans.
And the prime home games make up the majority of the games! * 40 prime games * 37 regular games * 5 value games There should be an equal amount of prime and value games.
I bet the Cubs actually did not sell a lot of these dugout seats to the public. I bet they only sold a handful, just to please the public. The rest went to ticket brokers. That way, they can pay for Maddux’s salary.
WHAT?!?!? there was only 5 “value” games? what a joke! they just added those 5 games so the media wouldn’t say that those tickets range between $100 and $250. They want the media to say that the price ranges from $50 – $250. This is outrageous. I’m so sick of this. I almost wish they would tear down wrigley field and build a new, ugly ball park so I don’t have to deal with all this nonsense that comes with being a cubs fan. I’m a much bigger cubs fans than a wrigley fan. don’t get me wrong. I love wrigley. but there’s just too much baggage and crap that comes with wrigley nowadays. ticket prices. stupid bleacher party goers. outrageous parking costs. there’s too many wrigley field fans and not enough cubs fans going to cubs games. white sox fans don’t know how easy they got it. though they really should move the sox to the suburbs. they would make a killing out here. you know how many people hate driving into the city to see a baseball game? alot.
What suburb should host the White Sox?
years ago, before the Cell was built, they were talking about Addison. That would rock. Addison is a few minutes away from me. i wouldn’t want the sox to be too close, cuz all the sox crap would get annoying. Naperville would be nice, but it’s kinda far from the city. But Naperville will be the next Chicago in a few years. Well, not exactly. Addison is nice cuz it’s closer to the city. I always thought it would be cool if they put a minor league team in the rock quarry in Elmhurst. You could fit a stadium and parking in there. It would be soooo cool. And Elmhurst is in the center of chicagoland… easily accessible from anywhere.
addison is tiny. it’s a tiny little town.
I was one of the lucky ones today for Dugout Box Seats. Got 4 tickets for Sat July 30 against the Diamondbacks. Just a regular fan. Took all of about 15 minutes.
