Everyone should have a sticker library

Stickers come in so handy and every loves getting a sticker on something… an envelope, at the end of a letter, on a memo, birthday cards, on a gift wrapping, on their nose! Stickers can go anywhere. Anytime you find some on sale, nap ’em. Then get a sticker file for both work and home.

Whenever someone has a birthday in my department at work, we pass around a birthday card for people to sign. It’s so much more fun when you can add a cute sticker inside. Ideally, it would be so much fun if everyone put their own sticker inside. So far I got one other person at work on the sticker bandwagon for the cards. (by the way, you can download a hi-res wallpaper of the photo that runs with this article. It looks really cool blown up)

Wowser, Dowser you captured my thoughts in a real life way! I love stickers!! Just wondering – for all artists and sticker aficionados: Do you create your own stickers? Do you create works of art from stickers?

I bought a really cool machine that allows you to make your own stickers. It is really fun! When I was in elementary school I learned how to make my own stickers and even taught a class on it! How funny is that!! The trick was rubber cement. You apply a coat of rubber cement to the back side of your soon-to-be sticker and then a coat of rubber cement to a piece of paper [any type of paper will work … I remember using contruction paper”> that will what you peel your sticker from. The trick is to let the rubber cement dry and THEN stick the two pieces together. The backing will protect your sticker until you’re ready to stick it on something! Like Spud’s nose! Haha! Here’s a link to the sticker machine I have: http://www.save-on-crafts.com/xyr500sticma.html
