iPhone App Notifies Viewers When TV Ads Finish

As broadcasters continue to fight the ad-skipping technology found in Dish Network’s Hopper, a new iPhone app was released today that notifies viewers in real time when commercial breaks are finished, allowing a TV watcher to surf other channels or grab a bite to eat in the kitchen without worrying about missing his or her favorite program.

Hmm, by having to pay attention to an app that tells us when the commercials are over, aren’t we really paying MORE attention to the commercials?

This is actually a helpful tool for parents. It’s hard watching the NFL with young children in the room. Often the commercials are inappropriate.
