A few artists unofficially assembled a fence in the middle of the popular Palackeho square in Prague. The government officials were confused and didn’t do anything to it at first. The artists wanted to question what is public space?
I want to question you, what would you do with this fenced-in space? Here’s a couple starter ideas:
— Fill it with objects. e.g. stuffed animals, notes, carved hearts
— Have theatre shows. I can’t think of any specific shows.
— Make it into a zoo. Fill it with live animals.
— Put a door on the fence and make it into a playground.
— Take down one side of the fence, leaving all three sides standing. Hang artwork on the inside and outside of the fence.
Please vote for any of the ideas above, or leave your own idea in the comments.
A couple more ideas: — Build an Apple Store underneath it. — Steel cage wrestling match. — Cut an opening, line couches along the perimeter. See if people go in and sit.
In addition to the stuffed animals, you could have a crain above the cage and people could give a dollar to operate the crain to try to get a stuffed animal out of the cage.
