2008 Presidential candidate email analysis

You want a president that will keep communication lines open. Of all the 2008 Presidential candidates, Dennis Kucinich and John McCain both sent out the most emails in October 2007. They sent out 16 emails each.

The most secretive candidates were Rudy Giuliani and Barack Obama with five. Even though Mike Gravel only sent out three, that's more chalked up to him giving up.

It's interesting contrast the closed Giuliani and Obama with the open McCain and Kucinich.

Here's the chart of all the candidates and their frequency of emails for their campaign.

did you design that Kucinich banner ad on the home page for your blog? and is the portrait of Denny done by you as well? If so, nice work.

I did not design the Kucinich banner ad. I got it from: http://www.pjchmiel.com/president_kucinich.html

Hey Spudart,
I like the switch from IDEA/QUESTION blogs to in depth political and financial analysis blogs.

Is this a long term trend or do you just happen to have lots of political posts recently?

heh, thanks for noticing that andy. I basically blog about whatever I find interesting and what other people might find interesting. So it just happens that recently a bunch of political stuff has come up. No intentional change in focus. Spudart will continue to post IDEA/QUESTIONS along with political things and other stuff.

Those are Kucinich posters and banners are really sharp. It almost makes me want to vote for him. Though I still like Joe Biden. I think he's funny.

I enjoyed the chart. Interesting analysis. What's the source of the data?

Gave it a little mention on my forums:

Tanner,
The source is from me. I subscribed to all the major candidates' email lists in the middle of September. My email program has some rules set up to automatically dump all the campaign emails into one folder. And then I go and count them all.

You do realize that statistics can't always be taken as they are. If voters don't all participate for them then it means there could be surprises on election day.
