Go to Banana Republic or Eddie Bauer or Sak's or Neiman's or ... ANYWHERE ... to get a winter jacket.
I like the shot though. I think the Chicago Sewer is exactly where Macy's belongs.

Dear Matt:
I have never and will never, ever set one little shoe-shopping toe inside Macy's. Ever. Never.
When I first moved to Chicago, going to Marshall Field's was an instant tradition. I loved it there. I loved everything about it. The building, the history, the connection I had to it before I became a Chicagoan -- my grandparents used to meet "in front of the clock" when they went on dates.
I'm a big fan of capitalism, but the Macy's buyout of Marshall Fields was, to me, a gross error in judgment and taste.
I'll never shop there as long as I live.
In other news, have a great day!
Best,
Mary
I don't understand why Macy's just didn't keep the downtown Field's as Field's. It just shows how self-righteous New Yorkers can be.
Building brand is important. So it's fine to change all the suburban Field's into Macy's. But the downtown Field's was a landmark. Macy's is built terrible brand presence in Chicago by changing the downtown Field's.
Matt, what were you thinking? I like to mock people who carry around Macy's bags. It doesn't solve anything, but makes me feel better ;)

I had this idea this morning as a way to boycott Macy's. You know how people used to throw red paint on people who wore fur? I was thinking it would be kinda curious and daring to fill squirt guns with green food dye and squirt people's Macy's bags with the dye as a symbol of turning the Macy's bag back into a Marshall Field's bag.

I had to come back and say I am very proud of the fact that I didn't spend one red cent at Macy's State Street this Christmas. I managed to get everything I needed at other stores and online.
I'm disappointed in those who used to support the Macy's ban who now say it's a lost cause to boycott and that they have given in. What a shame. We need to continue to show Macy's how we feel by shopping elsewhere.
