I’ve had plenty of problems with my current hosting company olm.net and am considering changing hosts. I need a plan with:
Size
- 600mb storage or more
- 15 gigs traffic or more
MySQL stuff
- MySQL version 3.23.32 or newer.
- PHPmyAdmin
- MySQL grant privileges (for tables): CREATE, ALTER, DROP
- I need only one database, but multiply tables in that database.
PHP stuff
- PHP version 4.1 or newer.
- PHP must have XML support.
- One of the three image manipulation protocols: GD, ImageMagick, NetPBM
- “Output_buffering” must be turned off in php.ini.
- Works with SMTP servers of earthlink. If they have their own SMTP server, I don’t want a limit on the number of emails that I can send out in one day. (Godaddy.com only allows 250 emails to be sent per day. Not that i would ever reach that limit, but with the email notification on comments on my blog, it might get that high)
- Unlimited aliasing with email (i don’t care about having multiple email accounts, i just want aliasing)
- Web-based email
Etc
- 24/7 phone support
- Under $15.00 a month
- Access to raw logs
- Unique IP address
- FTP access
- CGI support
Interested in, but not essential
- Email autoresponders
- Password protected directories
- Sub-domains

Your ISP just read this and will be shutting down your site 😀
i hope not! I think they want to boot me. I’ve called them about twenty times in the past two months. And i’m only paying them $12.95 a month. I’m not worth it to them.
Godaddy.com looks cheap on the outside. $3.95 for 500mb storage, 25gigs traffic. But you have to buy all these extra add-ons. Their email only allows a 10mb inbox, and 250 outbound emails per day. Here’s what’s the extras are: $2.50 upgrade email $1.49 access to raw logs #1.95 dedicated IP address that’s an extra $5.94 well, i guess that’s just $9.89 now. hmm… But if you want CGI support, you have to go up to the $9.95 plan. but if you get it for one year, that’s $7.96/month. I hate monthly contracts though, i always end up leaving in the middle of it. Cuz you leave a server right away, cuz you are having problems. You never leave when your contract is up.
try DreamHost http://www.dreamhost.com (heard good things about this one) or Apollo Hosting http://www.apollohosting.com (been using this one and it had been fairly reliable)
ipowerweb.com is the bestest of the best.
I think you should talk to my sister’s pal Hal. He has all the stuff you are looking for at a good price too. http://netwisp.com
