My top five favorite books

1. Bible

It’s written by God. It tells the truth. It doesn’t hold back. Everything important that we need to know is in this book.

2. Mere Christianity

“Lewis employs logical arguments that are eloquently expressed.” A great book on theology, culture, and society.

3. The Amazing Body Human

“This book examines in detail the fascinating anatomical differences between humans and animals to appreciate how all of these differences are part of God’s design for us as persons.” It’s really fascinating how we are so completely different from animals—especially explained in a scientific way.

4. Tipping Point

A great book about how little things make a big difference. Excellent structure to the book with great stories. A very fast read.

5. The Monumental Impulse

Compares architecture to biology. The number five slot was a tough one to fill. There are so many runner-ups.

Respiro the logo design guy

Matt, it’s great to know that we share the same values. I am a Romanian Christian web designer and I am glad to see that there are a several designers who believe in Jesus Christ. Do you know Matthew Davies? He’s also a Christian. His portfolio: http://www.attitudedesign.co.uk Blessings, Respiro http://www.RespiroMedia.com

Tipping Point is a great book. I read it on my vacation to Europe last summer. It’s an old book (not as old as the bible) but still a very good read. My favorite books: 1. Intelligent Investor 2. One Up on Wall Street 3. Good to Great 4. Built to Last 5. Liar’s Poker A little further down the list would be Moneyball.

Respiro, the logo designer

Matt, thank you for the links. It would be great if we, Christian designers, would have an online place where to meet. “Respiro, after seeing your site, it makes me want to redesign mine!” I am open to discuss this subject… 🙂 Blessings, Respiro http://www.RespiroMedia.com

Hey Spudart, I have to say that I am not a particularly religious person due to my childhood forced attendance of church every Sunday for 18 years. However, I admire your courage to say that you’re Christian even though it’s not particularly fashionable. Do you sometimes feel that mainstream Christianity alienates artists due to conservative values?

Jen, how is it not fashionable to say that one is Christian? It is followed by literally half the world. What takes courage is to state that one is atheist since a lot of religious folks will look down upon that.
