Cubs playoff tickets. A great thing to have. Game four. Certainly there would be a game four, right? Not with these Chicago Cubs. They got swept by the Arizona Snakes in three games. Ouch.
It’s certainly disappointing to see the Cubs lose in the playoffs.
It’s more disappointing to see them get swept in the playoffs.
It’s even more disappointing to see them get swept by the stupid Snakes.
And then it’s MOST disappointing when their loss prevents me from going to see them play the next day.
Now I’m trying to figure out what’s more disappointing.
A) The cubs being five outs from going to the World Series, and then some fluke incident with Steve Bartman.
OR
B) The Cubs being swept by the snakes the day before I was supposed to see the Cubs play.
I’d have to go with situation A being more disappointing. But man, situation B certainly sucked. Oh well, I should at least be thankful that I had the opportunity to even possess tickets in the first place. I got the tickets through work—I work for Tribune. Although this is their last year owning the Cubs, so this was my sort of last time to enjoy getting Tribune tickets.
Hey, at least the Cubbies didn’t finish in last place. Now let’s hope Bud Selig’s buddy doesn’t end up owning the Cubs. That just sends me the heepy jeebies thinking about it.

I watched game three with my dad, who was going to see game four with me. It was sad when he gave me back his ticket in the eight inning of game three. But I had these visions of the Cubs coming back from a 4-1 deficit in the bottom of the 8th or 9th inning, and then having the joy of giving the ticket back to my dad. But it never happened.
I was disappointed with the Cubs this weekend for two reasons: 1) They were swept — they barely put up a fight. 2) They didn’t go out with flair or imagination.
Do people get refunds for tickets purchased for game 4? I felt sorry for you when I was watching that game. I have a rant I must share. 5th or 6th inning. Cubs down 3-1. bases loaded. count 3-2. Mark DeRosa at bat. The pitch is way outside. He swings and misses. inning over. I’m very upset about this. Now it’s normal for guys to chase after ball four and strike out. That happens. But it was painfully obvious that Livan Hernandez (pitcher on mound) did not want to be in the game any more. He did everything possible to avoid pitching. He walked around the mound. He threw over to first. He was even pointing at his eye at one point. And this is all between two pitches. He looked beyond fatigued and tired. He’s a big fat man whose tank was running on “E” and desperately wanted to take a nap. This exhaustion is further emphasized by the fact that he allowed 3 Cubs to fill the bases. The Cubs had done jack squat in the series. So it seems painfully clear that sweaty-tired-fatman couldn’t get the ball over the plate with a 3-2 count. Keep the f’ing bat on your shoulders, DeRosa and take the walk and let Hernandez give you a free run to make the score 3-2. Instead DeRosa chases at a bad pitch from sweaty-tired-fatman and the inning ends. Typical.
Hello. Yes, DeRosa made a huge mistake there. At least he did his part compared to the rest of the guys during the series. Can we discuss A-Ram who was chasing Hernandez..ez…ez pitches that were WAY WAY outside? It was as if Aramis got a telegram that day saying “In order to determine the strike zone, use the following equation: the width of the pitcher x 5” ugh. so frustrating.
