Navy Pier is Chicago’s number one tourist destination with more than 8 million visitors annually. There are so many advantages to the pier structure.
- It’s by the lake where people can enjoy the water.
- Desintation for boat tours.
- Because how a pier sticks out from the mainland, it provides spectacular views back onto the mainland.
- Because of how it’s an isolated land out in water, the entire area can be completely designed to provide a complete experience.
- Almost separate from the city. No traffic or icky city noise, like an island.
- However unlike an island, a pier is easy to access, because it is connected to the mainland.
