Funmaster Bernie De’Koven posted about shoe trees. One person would toss a pair of shoes onto a power line, and then other people would join in and throw more pairs of shoes up. The shoes would start to collect and form a shoe tree. I’ve seen one pair of shoes hanging plenty of times (especially when I went to grade school on the south side of Chicago). But I have never seen a whole batch together. What fun this is!
Has anyone ever seen or participated in a shoe tree?

There’s got to be a performance arts group somewhere that could do this.. but with people still in the shoes. I’ve never seen more than one pair in the chain though…
I hate to be fuddy duddy, but what about the power line snapping and falling to ground and wreaking havoc?
Haven’t you ever play Operation? Electricity is fun.
*played My english are well.
I got an electric shock once. In the sculpture lab at college. I was hooking up a light bulb socket in an artwork, and I got zapped. It makes ALL your extremities tingle. If you know what I mean!
My nickname.. is not entirely random. I know all about the beautiful tingly-numbness that is electrocution. 🙂
My nickname is all about the versatile, common, essential, down-to-earthness that is the potato. 🙂
My nickname is a moose that is unlikely. (From a photo series I did in college of a plastic moose that I photographed around campus before the current age of digital photography. How unlikely to see a moose in such circumstances.)
Sometimes I sculpt things out of mashed potatoes.. I’m not really sure what it is, but I know it means something, and that it’s important.
Such are the great possibilities inherent in the potato! 🙂
