Imagine you are an alien.
You are approaching planet earth for the first time. You could totally end up approaching earth from any direction. What if you approached earth from what we call the bottom, and you see Antarctica first? You would think that our entire planet is based around this one continent!
In fact, if you camped out for a day before approaching (in case there are dangerous life forms) you would notice that the entire planet even revolves around Antartica!
I didn’t get past imagining that I am an alien! Not only am I now forced to contend with all this slime, I can’t even find my green card! The word I have to submit to post this is “peace69”
green card. that’s funny. Cuz alien. green. green slime. peace69, it’s so much fun when the word submit thing is related to the post.
FYI, the earth is rotating the correct way in this image: “The Sun rises in the east so the Earth rotates around its own axis towards the east. As seen from the North Pole this is counterclockwise, but as seen from the South Pole this is clockwise.” from AstronomyAnswerBook: Planets
Here’s a cool visualization of earth from its underside from IDV Solutions based in Michigan:http://www.flickr.com/photos/idvsolutions/8286967463/
