Split the cost of a Custom Chicago Cubs Brick at Wrigley Field

My brother Erik posted on his blog that the Chicago Cubs are offering fans the opportunity to get their very own 4″ x 8″ personalized brick to be placed somewhere around Wrigley Field. Erik wants to get a brick that says:

RUB THIS BRICK

AND THE CUBS

WILL WIN TODAY

But it costs $160 to get a brick. Now if anyone wants to split the cost of the brick, please leave your name in the comments below. So far Erik and I are in on it. Please join us and get the chance to leave your mark on the coolest brick at Wrigley Field. I’ll tell ya what, you can even donate as much as you want. One dollar. Five dollars. Anything will be appreciated.

They’re not sharing where the money is going to go! Nearly a scam I say!

Believe what you want, Abhay. I’m strongly considering just forking over the $160 and getting the brick. But it would be nice to have others participate in the fun. If you want to give me or spud $1, then cool. Then you can say you’re part of this historic brick. If not, then I’ll get the brick on my own and you’ll miss out. It’s your loss. People will catch wind of this lucky brick and it’ll become a landmark of Wrigley Field. Those in the know will visit this brick each time they go to a cubs game. And who knows; maybe this brick will actually bring good luck to the Cubs! I don’t understand how you can say “they’re not sharing where the money is going to”. It’s either you’re part of this investment or your not. I’m not going to take your money and never get the brick. That’s terrible. And it’ll hex the Cubs even further. As a side note, each person that places an order for a wrigley brick will receive a replica. I just want to make it clear that the replica lfor this particular brick will become my property (unless spud decides to go halfsies with me then the two of us can co-own the replica). The Cubs are offering extra duplicate bricks for an additional $83 (including convenience fees, shipping not included… whatever shipping costs are). So you can put some money in our brick fund and pay an extra $83 to get your own replica.

I’d like to contribute. How can I be sure you will buy the brick? Let me know about this, I like the idea.

i just bought the brick. I will post the receipt on my site along with a paypal link if anyone wishes to invest in the “Lucky Cubs Brick”. Even a few bucks would help the cause. I didn’t order any duplicate bricks for $83. So I will only be accepting donations to help pay for the $160 fee.

The link is up! Anyone can make a donation through my site. I use Paypal for all my financial transactions. You don’t need a paypal account to donate. Credit Cards work. I never see your financial information. And Paypal is a worldwide leader in web-based transactions. Or if you have a Paypal account, it can deduct your donation from your Paypal account. Tell your friends! Tell your family! Tell anyone on the street wearing a Cubs hat! Anyone got Ron Santo’s number? I bet he’d donate to the cause. http://www.unlikelymoose.com/more/cubs/luckybrick.html Go Cubs!
