Here are my four favorite baseball websites:
baseball-reference.com
My favorite source for quick stats. Plus, it’s just fun to tool around on the site, looking at random stats.
hardballtimes.com
Great writing on baseball
desipio.com
Hilarious coverage of the Cubs
cubscast.com
Not only the best cubs podcast out there, it’s easily one of my top five favorite podcasts in any genre
If you like desipio, then you’ll equally enjoy Hire Jim Essian. The tone is exactly the same. Brutally honest insight. You totally forgot about cubby-blue.com. It’s updated regularly and each blog post features an original illustration pertaining to the latest news about the Cubs. It’s truly remarkable. The Trib or Sun-Times should really hire this guy and have a corner of the Sports section dedicated to his work. It’s that good. You should really make this list a top 5 instead of a top 4 and include cubby-blue.com.
cubby-blue.com I have not checked that site in a long time. I was just listing the sites that I regularly check. Oh wow, cubby-blue.com has an RSS feed. sweet. I’m gonna subscribe. His commentary on Fukodome’s bunt is hilarious. ——————– “Fukudome put down a bunt that was so perfect and breathtaking and unexpected I don’t believe Wiggington even got off his heels. Like he was hypnotized. Fukudome has magic skills, and a bunt like that really ought to open some eyes.” ——————– But you really have to see the illustration to make it funny.
That http://hirejimessian.com looks good. I just wish it didn’t have that “read more” stuff. Put the fully blog post on the homepage, sucka! Every couple days I go to print ’em out and read it during lunch. I hate clicky clicky clicky just to reed a few posts. http://hirejimessian.com will probably end up in my top 10 list.
