Traditions in your workspace

Tribune Media Services (my employer) occupies four floors in the Tribune Tower: 13, 14, 15, and 16. I work and spend 99.5% of my time on floor 14. Visiting the other floors is like visiting a parallel dimension, because they are similar but also different.

Every floor has its own set of unique customs and traditions, here’s ours:

I’d imagine other floors have traditions with food. Like when I was on 15 for a couple of months, they did something with someone being assigned each Friday to bring in snack food for the kitchen.

What are unique customs and traditions specific to the area you work?

Drop by 13, no traditions here. Just a bunch of dull application developers and the like. Well, there is one guy that brings in often-times interesting snacks (like chocolate with rum filling) and leaves them by the printer. But nothing that the 13th floor does. Or maybe they do, and I just don’t know it!

I don’t have a job! 🙁 +sniff+ I miss the 14th Floor Pencil Sharpener, though I’m still a member in good standing. Right?

We play a game called hide the ninja. Each employee has a unique 1 inch tall ninja. We take turns hiding ours anywhere in the office and then we search. The last ninja hiding WINS!
