The name “Boy” is not in the top 1000 names for any year of birth in the last 15 years. I’m sure there are some people who get so tired of trying to find the right name for their child, they just end up naming him “Boy.”
Does anyone name their child, “Boy”?

Still… much better than naming him “Girl.” I ran across a form at a previous job for a guy born during the depression – his parents were kind enough to name him Burden.
At least they didn’t name him “Accident.”
Or Apple
Perhaps not ‘Boy’ but what about ‘Guy’. I bet that is on the top 1000 names
Andy. Good point! Guy has made the top 1000 since 1992. However, it has been declining in use: 2006 989 2005 a 2004 987 2003 944 2002 929 2001 803 2000 811 1999 805 1998 764 1997 791 1996 767 1995 744 1994 738 1993 644 1992 615
It looks like it’s dropping in popularity at least. There’s this kid that used to come in to the library sometimes – his name was Guy. He was built like Superman. Seriously, if you saw him, the first thing through your mind would be “That guy… Guy.. he should be cast in the next Superman movie.”
I imagine this would be a problem for people with large families. After a while, they just give up trying to find the perfect name. Speaking of which, you might have heard of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. They have 17 kids. Yes, that’s right. 17. And they all have names that start with the letter “J.” That really must be confusing. Can you imagine what’s going to happen when the parents get old and senile? They might as well not even TRY to remember all their kids’ names!
