When art begs to be used

Artwork falling out of its envelope, asks to be used.

Arriving at my desk this morning, these stored printouts had fallen out of their envelope. They are printouts of the surface of Pluto. Last year I printed these strips with the intention of wrapping them around objects in public spaces. Everyday objects, like poles and branches, would be transformed into the surface of Pluto!

Last year I made printouts of the Carina Nebula. They got their turn to see the sunshine–and a parking pole:

This nebula also received the opportunity to be wrapped around a garbage can:

The printouts of Pluto had been patiently sitting in their envelope under my desk for too many months. Today they decided they can wait no longer! It’s time to break out, and see the world!
