I’m surprised that Quark is still releasing new versions. Last week I got an email from Quark saying they are releasing version 8.5. Here’s my email response to them. I like giving Quark a hard time.

Finland’s stamps feature the cutest illustrations and photos. Cartoon hippos camping, animals dancing around a Christmas tree, funky shaped stamps, raspberry delights, snow dogs. C’mon you can’t beat that. This is going to make me a collector of Finnish stamps. A great big thanks to Greatscott66 for posting these. He posts fun stamps that he […]
In celebration of Christmas coming up, here are some of my favorite Christmas photos shot around Chicago.
Does this photo look extremely dark to you? On my monitor at home it looks fine, but at work it’s very dark It should look bright, not dark. When I worked on this photo at home it didn’t look like the bean was under cloak of darkness. (The lighter photo is now the current photo […]
I’m thinking about doing a project with all the historical markers in Chicago. Maybe a collection of photos. A photo of just the plaque. A photo of the location where the plaque is. Maybe a 30 second video of the surroundings showing a 360-degree around the plaque. In addition to the photos, it would be […]
In honor of 11/11/10, I bring you the tweets at significant numbers. Tweet #100. Twitter was really exciting at the start. Tweet #1,000. The first people on twitter were party animals! Tweet #10,000. Curbing your wheels? The one billionth tweet. At first glance this tweet looks like it would stink. A tinyurl? But the japanese […]

The liquid is heated using the Earth’s natural temperature, about 55 degrees. Heat is drawn from the liquid when needed to warm the store, or pushed back into […]
My most listened-to song of October 2010 is Lelia Broussard’s Satelitte (a robot love story). Available on Amazon.com and iTunes. Lelia Broussard is also my most played artist of October 2010.
I changed my work twitter account from @tribunematt to @mattmaldre this past month. The tribune name was too corporatey. All the Twitter users in the Chicago Tribune don’t use “Tribune” in their name, and I felt kinda funny using it in my mine, especially since I don’t tweet all that much specifically about the Tribune. […]
I love this idea! Two of these shops have been on my “to visit” for way too long, and now this is just the incentive to get me to visit. From Chicagocomics.com via gapersblock.com Forget pub and bar and even zombie bar crawls….book crawls are where it’s at, specifically comic shops uniting for an inaugural […]
